Texas Heat Wave Kicking on Gas-Fired Peakers

Last week, many of the northern tier of states saw a slight cooling trend, but cool was not the word to describe conditions in Texas, where natural gas-fired power is spiking as the slow broil continues. According to AccuWeather Meteorologist Chyna Glenn, temperatures across the Northeast are more closely associated with the beginning of September than the beginning of August. Glenn added a cool front dipping down into the US will make "for wonderful late-summer outdoor activities such as golfing, running and hiking."
