Salting the Gem Mines for Tourists and Kids

Vacations are often compromises for me: two young boys who crave adventure and entertainment, and my tired and sorry butt needing some uninterrupted down time. We often have conflicting objectives in mind. However, casual "mineral collecting" is something we can all enjoy, and a recent vacation trip to the Asheville area of North Carolina provided an opportunity to do just that!
