Issues over Block Exemption were high on the agenda at a symposium at this year's Autopromotec event in Italy, with critics attacking both the complexity of the rules and their policing. Compared to the sweltering 29 degree temperature outside, a couple of lawyers got a cool reception after talking about Block Exemption at the Autopromotec trade show in Bologna. One British delegate said of Marco Grilli, a consultant with the car makers' association UNRAE: "At first I thought it was bad translation. Then he spoke in English and realised he was talking mumbo jumbo."
