Offensive to Women (Part II) This letter is in response to the letter written by Roland B. Fischer, Met. E. '42, which appeared in the January/ February 1996 issue of the Mines Magazine. Thank you, Mr. Fischer, for bringing forward the very problem women in the engineering professions must face and which must be addressed by all concerned, male and female a like. Fortunately, men of Mr. Fischer's age and ilk are retiring and leaving the work place, making it a little easier to crawl toward the 21~(st) Century. We have Mr. Fischer's own admission of being a little behind the times when he confessed that the Air Force Band of the Rockies performance on February 12, 1996, was the first time he had visited Friedhoff Hall, even though he lives in the area. No more would I rely on Mr. Fischer's memory than would I rely on my estimable husband's memory for the words to The Mining Engineer. I took the verses directly from the Mines Magazine of March/April 1994. So, whose memory is faulty, Mr. Fischer, yours or Mines Magazine! I believe you owe Fred Schwartzberg an apology.
