This article is based on a presentation by Gregory Rowe, director of grain operations for Perdue AgriBusiness, Salisbury, MD (410-341-2368). He spoke in July at the annual Operations, Management & Technology Seminar offered by the Grain Elevator and Processing Society and the National Grain and Feed Association in St. Louis, MO. In the September/October issue of Grain Journal, we covered in detail the OSHA 1910.146 standard regulating entry into permit-required confined spaces.
