Maine Governor Signs Bill to Restrict Sale of Ethanol-Blended Gasoline Greater Than E10

Maine Gov. Paul LePage on May 7 signed into law a legislation that prohibits a person from selling or offering for-sale gasoline that contains corn-based ethanol as an additive at a level greater than 10% by volume (E10). The newly signed law, LD 453, won’t go into effect until at least two other New England states have enacted laws that prohibit the sale of gasoline that contains corn-based ethanol at a level greater than E10. The bill was sponsored by Rep. Ricky Long (R-Sherman).
