Computer-assisted engineering: to capitalise one's know-how in order to accelerate the development of products and make them reliable

Competition met with on the markets favors the reduction of development cycles. It encourages CAE editors to enhance their software offer, but also research bureaux to review their development methods. The good product must be designed at thefirst attempt, by better defining the objectives and restraints, by relying on one's know-how, by automating whatever can be automated, by striving for the best straight away and by respecting standards of quality. New methodologies are gradually beingset up, which have the particularity of resembling one another strongly, whether they are mechanical designs, the development of electric-electronic systems or even the perfecting of mechatronics solutions.
