Composition of the essential oil of Ocimum kilimandscharicum leaf

Nineteen constituents have been identified,by GC and GC/MS of leaf oil,from Ocimum kilimandscharicum,accounting 93% of the oil,having monoterpene hydrocarbons 21.78%,oxygenated monoterpenes 67%,sesquiterpene hydrocarbons 2.46%,and oxygenated sesquiterpene 1.85%.Major components are camphor(53.89%)followed by limonene(10.5%)and camphene(4.5%).Comparison has been made with the camphor rich O.kilimandscharicum known in literature.
