Commissioning is going well, ramp-up targets are all being met and the General Manager is happy. You arrive at the plant in the morning and start reviewing the night shift logs. What you discover is the night shift had to reduce feed to the mills. Not an unusual occurrence during plant ramp-up. However, in this case they diagnose an inability to get the slurry from the rougher to the scavenger flotation cells. The control valves were 100% open, yet the rougher cells were pulping into the concentrate launders.
