Asia-Pacific demand for coal kept up its growth in March, showing the region's economic expansion is intact although not at the pace hoped for by coal markets. China's coking coal imports fell by 14.2pc from the previous month to 4.63mn metric tonnes in March on weak demand from steel mills.
