The Asian market has been seeing weak demand for Russian thermal coal in February, Metal Expert learns. Buying activity has been low partly due to some consumers leaving for holidays. According to exporters, deals in the physical market have been rare. In addition, market sources report about difficulties with deliveries to final consumers. Dispatching of vessels is complicated due to the current ice situation at the Far Eastern ports, while coal handling is hampered by heavy frosts. Loaded trains are queuing up on railway approach routes to ports of Primorsky and Khabarovsk Territories.
