A380.1-319.1 price spread at tightest since November 2017

The spread between A380.1 and 319.1 secondary aluminium alloy prices hit a more than two-and-ahalf- year low on Thursday August 13, with demand said far greater for the former grade. Fastmarkets assessed the price for aluminium alloy A380.1, delivered Midwest US at 69-71 cents per lb on August 13, narrowing upward by 1 cent at 68-71 cents per lb. Deals were reported within the new range, with those at 68 cents no longer heard in the market. Producers were testing offers at 72 cents, but no deals were heard at that level.
