Europe Cu: Scrap spreads unchanged

Copper scrap discounts in Europe were flat over the past week as exchange prices stayed at comparatively high levels and overall demand low. Argus assessed the Millbery (bare bright) delivered Europe cash spread at 95-96.5pc of the London Metal Exchange (LME) copper price on 28 July, unchanged on the week. The weekly delivered Europe #2 (Birch/Cliff) cash spread was assessed at 87-88pc, flat from 21 July. The #1 (Berry/ Candy) cash spread was assessed at 92-93pc of LME copper while the spread for labelled brass C260 alloy was assessed at 88-90pc, both unmoved on the week.
