Billet-scrap spread makes semis more attractive for Turkish mills

With the spread between Turkishimport scrap and Black Sea billet at itslowest level in more than 14 months,substituting some scrap purchases with billetprocurements has become more attractive forrebar producers in Turkey.Larger substitution of Turkish mills towardbillet procurements yet appears limited.Since the beginning of September, pricesfor Turkish import scrap and imported billetprices have started diverging.
