Results from thesummer 2018 bunk density project

THIS SUMMER SHUR-GAIN, with the help of two summer students, Allana Beuermann and jane Sarloos, conducted a survey about the bunk density of corn silage and haylage. Some densities for high moisture corn and cob meal were also recorded but since the number of bunks was small we don't present results in this article.We sampled bunks in 74 farms across South Western Ontario. A total of 147 samples were done, with the distribution by feed type indicated in chart 1.
