Athena Technolo-G has conceived a pivoting axle concept that simplifies vehicle platforms and could accelerate the introduction of autonomous vehicles The pivoting axle concept could play a sizeable part in accelerating the introduction of autonomous land transportation in our cities. By discarding a lot of running gear from the chassis and thus simplifying the vehicle platform, the pivoting axle architecture brings benefits in terms of greatly reducing the cost of design, fabrication, assembly, operation and maintenance of future road vehicles. These benefits can translate directly into increased ROI for fleet operators and higher margins for OEMs.
