Apheresis education: One center curriculum design experience

There is little published in regards to apheresis education and curriculum for nursing. As more importance is placed on education, competency and skills for apheresis through accreditation processes, institutions are left to determine the educational requirements needed for nursing. Working with limited resources, one center has designed a comprehensive apheresis curriculum program that encompasses skills and theory for the novice to experienced learner. Utilizing existing hospital education and incorporating it into the apheresis curriculum was designed to meet the needs of the patient population, nurses and hospital. (C) 2017 Elsevier Ltd.
