ON STABILIZATION OF SOLUTIONS OFTHE CAUCHY PROBLEM FOR LINEAR DEGENERATEPARABOLIC EQUATIONS

We study the asymptotic behaviour of solutions to theCauchy problem for linear degenerate parabolic equations. The coef-ficients of the equations may grow or tend to zero as |x|→∞. Weestablish necessary and sufficient conditions on the initial data whichguarantee the stabilization of the solution to a constant.
