Two analytical procedures for determining volatile fatty acids in the rumen liquid (n=53) were compared in this study: capillary isotachophoresis (ITP) and gas chromatography. Acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric and valeric acids were determined. Results revealed that there were no significant differences (P
