Bahrain on Wednesday ended 10 weeks ofmartial law and called for unconditional dia-logue with the opposition as preparations getunder way for the crown prince to visit theUS. King Hamad ordered the legislative andexecutive branches to open talks in a speechgiven Tuesday to the board of the country’sJournalists Association.The government declared what it called astate of “national safety” on Mar. 15, the dayafter inviting in Saudi-led forces to quellmore than a month of pro-democracyprotests inspired by uprisings elsewhere inthe Middle East and North Africa.
