摘要

Evidence suggests that the incorporation ora vegetable garden into a nutrition education program may be an effective means of improving children's dietary behaviors. This article describes an innovative approach to nutrition education that accurately and effectively ties nutrition and gardening lessons together in one program. Nutrition to Grow On was evaluated with upper-elementary schoolchildren; thus, the initial target for this work is children in grades 4 to 6. However, sufficient information has been included in the lessons to make them appropriate for children in grades kindergarten to 12.
