Susceptibility profile to common antimicrobials used for eradication of Helicobacter pylori Infection in Mexico by agar dilution method.

Eradication treatment for HeHcobacter pylori is recommended in all patients with peptic ulcer, in those with low-grade gastric mucosa-associated lym-phoid tissue lymphoma, in atrophic gastritis, and following gastric cancer resection. It is also strongly recommended for those who are direct relatives of patients with gastric cancer and, following full consultation, for those patients who decide for themselves that this is a suitable option . The basic premise for the management of H. pylori infection is similar worldwide . However, in developing countries where the demographic and socioeconom-ic differences are evident, physicians have to select antimicrobial treatment based on cost, suitability and efficacy.
