The rumored restructuring of Qatar Petroleum (QP) has attracted most attention, but Qatari sources say the process began some time ago and will not fundamentally change the state company, since it is aimed at increasing transparency and efficiency and pushing international expansion. The more significant shift appears to lie in the Mideast nation's LNG sales strategy, particularly in the premium Asian market - also the target for aspiring LNG exporters in North America and East Africa.
