The administration systems for pesticide regulations, approvals, risk assessment and risk management are changing as new bodies are formed at both European Union and EU member state levels. A recent conference in Mainz, Germany, addressed some of theimportant issues as Brian Hicks (Editor, Crop Protection Monthly) discusses in this special report, as well as providing an update on the status of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). He also examines some industry perspectives of regulatory processes.
