Regulation/Technology: Technical innovation needs to have the right legislation to succeed, says Krone

Germany - "Legislators must leave us enough room to breathe - i.e. minor deviations in length, height and weight - then together with the track manufacturers, we can fulfil our tasks not only protecting the environment, but also of supplying people with what they want, on time." These were the concluding remarks of Dr (hon) Bernard Krone, chairman of the Advisory Board of trailer builder, Bernard Krone Holding GmbH & Co KG of Werlte, when presenting a paper called 'Energy efficient transport, technical trends in semi-trailers' at the pre-IAA symposium at the end of June.
