Engine manufacturers embrace advanced technologies from Europe and US to meet Euro3 emission standards

Diesel engines used in large and medium duty trucks and buses is now almost 100% while that of light duty truck, diesel engine utilisation compared with petrol has reached more than 89% - see tables below. The boom in the Chinese domestic CV market and the relatively quick changes in emission standards (Euro-1 in 1999, Euro-2 in 2003, and Euro-3 in 2008) have lead to a dramatic change in the technology now used and being adopted to meet future emission standards.
