Meeting China's Emission Standards: DLIM retrofit technology designed to help China meet new emission standards

As part of its commitment to reduce emissions and environmental pollutants, in early 2010 China's Ministry of Environmental Protection announced the preliminary version of a new nitrogen oxide (NO_x) emission control policy, which is expected to become official soon. The policy calls for any natural gas-fired turbine installed in the country after 2003 to have NO_x emissions lower than 39 parts per million (ppm) as of Jan. 1, 2010. In addition, any gas turbines installed before 2003 will be required to achieve 39 ppm NO_x emissions by 2015. This is a challenge facing gas turbine power plant owners/operators and their gas turbine service suppliers over the next several years.
