General teaching and Learning strategies

摘要

When I first started teaching medical students, back in the day, there were very few books around giving general guidance and support. Most were written for general practictitioner (GP) trainers, and although they contained pearls of practical wisdom, were quite specific to that setting. However, the last decade or so has seen an explosion in the number of books about clinical teaching. In this issue's 'From My Bookshelf, I am going to look at just five books from what is now quite a large and growing collection. I have tried to pick a selection with both undergraduate and postgraduate perspectives. A future 'From My Bookshelf will look specifically at teaching in primary care settings.
