WHEN we set out in early July in search of the farming, trading and history along the old Silk Road, we knew the chances were that sometime during the trip, there would be some bumps along the way. After all, we were travelling through some of the most remote parts of the world through which Mongol hordes, adventurers and merchants had travelled for centuries.
