Government must smooth the bumps in the road to recovery

Our latest state of trade survey of member firms has shown that workloads, enquiries and employment prospects have all improved substantially across most of the UK. This is great news for Britain's beleaguered builders, who have endured some of the most testing economic conditions in living memory. The economic recovery may still be in its early stages, but we are beginning to see the upturn take hold as confidence returns. This is also borne out by the most recent ONS GDP figures, which showed a second consecutive quarter of growth in the sector.
