摘要

Background: students have an important role in the future of the country and dealingwith the issues related with them is of great importance. Accordingly, the purpose of thepresent research is to investigate the effectiveness of teaching self-talk skills andteaching meta-cognitive skills on learning motivation strategies of students. Objective:the design of the present research is a quasi-experimental one with a pre-test and posttestaccompanied with a control group. The statistical population of the researchconsists of all the students in ShahidBeheshti University educating in 2012-2013 schoolyear. The sampling method was cluster random sampling. Finally the number of 60students of faculty of engineering was selected as the samples, which were put into twogroups of experimental and control. In order to collect the data the motivationalstrategies for learning questionnaire was used. The data was analyzed using ANOVAand Independent T-test in SPSS software. Results: based on the investigations, teachingself-talk and meta-cognitive skills have impact on learning motivation strategies ofstudents and increase them. Conclusion: regarding the fact that motivation is thegeneral factor in producing behavior, it is important to pay attention to the factor thatlead to the increase of motivation in the person.
