摘要

The Chilean government has published a wide-ranging series of modifications to the country's Intellectual Property Law (Law No 17,336), stiffening sanctions for piracy, establishing exemptions to the law and setting down rules for Internet service providers, among other measures.rnCulture Minister Luciano Cruz-Coke described the bill as the most important reform of the law since it was first published 40 years ago. "Copyright protection must be an effective mechanism in creation of economic value in our cultural industries," the minister said.
