Medco Energi targeting new Natuna Sea projects

INDONESIA'S Medco Energi is demonstrating its commitment to the fast-track development of its Natuna Sea Block B offshore asset by zeroing in on preferred contractors for the Belida and Hiu satellite schemes. Block B contains a number of producing fields including Bela-nak, Belida, North Belut, Kerisi and Hang Tuah, while Medco recently made a series of exploration discoveries in the area while simultaneously developing other deposits in Block B. Two of the current crop of expansions - at the Belida and Hiu fields - have been the subject of contractor competitions in recent months, according to multiple Jakarta-based sources.
