Universitat de Valencia: Tradition and innovation in education and research

The University of Valencia (UV) is an institution of higher education and research located in the city of Valencia (Spain). Founded in 1499, it was initially dedicated to the study of medicine, humanities, theology and law. Nowadays, the University of Valencia has become a modern European university open to almost every branch of knowledge. With more than 55,000 students and 3,500 teaching and research staff, it is one of the largest, oldest and most varied of the Spanish universities. The university's learning environment is further enriched by extensive contact with Valencian society.
