Hill City Trolleys, 2nd Edition

Released in 1977, the first edition of Hill City Trolleys was welcomed by local historians and streetcar fans. It documented a line in Lynchburg, Va., that had ceased operation in 1941 before its routes were taken over by buses. This updated second edition follows forty years after the initial release and clearly takes advantage of the additional research that has taken place in the intervening decades. More than one hundred additional new photographs and enhanced maps have been added to the original work. These improvements greatly enhance the reader's ability to interpret and understand the impact that this system had on the growth and culture of the medium-sized city of Lynchburg. The credit for these improvements rests squarely with the production editors Mary Mo-lyneux Abrams and Nancy Black-well Marion.
