This new radio from Spektrum represents a step away from previous offerings. Not only is it a completely new design, it offers telemetry as a standard part of the equipment, and a socket for an SD card, which is able to preserve model data, and to be used in downloading upgrades to the transmitter software. Up till now there has been a clear and strong collaboration between Spektrum and JR Radio, evident in the origins of both the hardware and software. Previous transmitters have been mounted in familiar JR cases with familiar programming methods, allied to transmission output using Spektrum's DSM2 system. This set retains the DSM2 system but differs by being a wholly Spektrum-designed system.
