Jet Cat Express is back in Long Beach, Calif., from a major refit at Nichols Brothers Boat Builders, Freeland, Wash. The 4-year-old, 145-foot Incat catamaran has new engines and a new aluminum skin. Jet Cat Express is the largest and fastest of the Catalina Express fleet of eight fast ferries that transport passengers from Long Beach, San Pedro and Dana Point to the beaches and balmy breezes of Catalina Island.
