摘要

Utah's push to reduce greenhouse gas emissions will lead to shifts in how the state's utilities produce electricity, according to Dianne Nielson, energy advisor to Utah governor Jon Huntsman.rnSome of those shifts could be big as the state looks to cut its GHG emissions and meet federal air quality standards. The issues "call for a different mix of energy sources and strategies for using electricity," Nielson said in an interview last week.rnThe potential changes will become clearer this week when a stakeholders group releases its recommendations on how Utah can reduce GHG emissions. The report, along with a follow-up report on renewable energy, will form the framework for the governor's next efforts on energy policy, Nielson said.
