The SMA -Eden BM3 (EDEN3) is an extension of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme. The purpose of this engineering project is to safeguard regions of south-eastern Australia now, and in the future, from drought and to supply water as climate change impacts. The EDEN3 will supply de-salinated water from the NSW South Coast and pump it up near the Brown Mountain area into the Murrumbidgee River. This water will flow to Lake Burrinjuck and then be piped into Lake George and into the Shoalhaven River. It is designed to provide a secure water supply to the Eden-Monaro area and provide power.

The intention of this claim is to request protection from any other claim to develop a de-salination plant or Hydroelectric scheme south of Sydney, New South Wales, on the southern coast of Australia to Mallacoota, Victoria and inland to the current electorates of Gilmore, Eden-Monaro, Gippsland and Shoalhaven. 'Eden3' is a major infrastructure plan that includes a large-scale De-salination plant near Tathra on the South Coast of NSW. It includes pipelines that run from the coast to the Snowy Mountains via Cooma. It will feed into the Murrumbidgee and is designed to fill Lake Burrinjuck. A Secondary Piping system will stretch across from Yass and use Lake George as storage and filling, and then pump water across near Bungendore and onto the Shoalhaven river near Braidwood. This will provide continuous water to the Braidwood area and also fill the Shoalhaven if necessary.
