Dallas-based Flowserve Corp. hosted a visit by Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev at its Quick Response Center (QRC) in the city of Atyrau. Nazarbayev was accompanied by Umirzak Shukeev, first vice-Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, and Gazizbek Turaliev, service center director, Flowserve. Nazarbayev recognized Flowserve as the first Western original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to invest in his country's drive to establish a world-class industrial support infrastructure. The presence of Flowserve, he noted, is an important step in meeting local ownership and content goals of the country's industrial development program.
