摘要

Single InAs/InP quantum dots and dashes are studied using micro-photoluminescence spectroscopy. At low temperature exciton and biexciton are identified. An increase of the biexciton binding energy is observed with decreasing the quantum dot size. Moreover, the asymmetric confinement causes a pronounced linearly polarized splitting of the exciton for quantum dots. Such a splitting is not observed for the quantum dashes despite their strong asymmetrical shape.
