摘要

Castro and Ergun's collection of essays is a timely publication as it casts the connection between feminism and translation studies in new light, adding a much-needed layer to both disciplines. The travels of non-literary ideas in the form of text and movements for justice and equality across national borders are explored using theoretical, and, for the most part, well-crafted practical cases. The authors have done an excellent job in embodying the concept of the 'transnational' in the act of creating a space for differences. The preface by Patricia Hill Collins, which states that 'translation is central to feminist praxis' (p. xi), forms the foundation of the book. It suggests that translation could be used as a solidarity-building activity to help form or transform feminist movements across linguistic, cultural and political borders. This is the main motif that shines throughout the book.
