This book is a welcome addition to packaging technology textbooks in that it fills a significant gap. It is all the more welcome for the wisdom, experience and knowledge of the two well-known authors: Daniel Goodwin is Professor of Packaging Science at Rochester Institute of Technology and Dennis Young is a specialist teacher at Michigan State University School of Packaging. The book's preface tells us that they have a combined experience of almost 80years in the field of packaging.The book deals with the science and principles of the design of packaging to protect product from the hazards of the distribution environment. It deals with fundamental science, materials, product fragility, hazards, design methods and testing.
