Iconic Dutch Beer Comes To Sa

The South African Breweries (SAB) has confirmed that SA is the first country outside Europe to bring to market the prestigious Dutch beer, Grolsch Premier , Lager, following the acquisition of Royal Grolsch by SABMiller some four monthsrnago. Grolsch has been available in SA (from the end of last month) in its iconic 450ml swing-top bottle and the 330ml flat-sided crown top through on- and off-trade premises. Both formats are imported from the Grolsch brewery in Holland.rnEarlier this year, SABMiller announced its intention to move Grolsch into SA as part of its strategy to build on premium-sector growth in key emerging beer markets. The release into SA comes three months ahead of initial expectations.
