Safety management by objectives

A one day conference, 'Safety management by objectives', has been arranged for 28 September at the Hilton Hotel. London. It is sponsored by RoSPA and the British Insurance Association with the support of the Confederation of British Industries and the Trades Union Congress. The theory and practice of total loss control is rapidly gaining acceptance in the United States. The concept grew with the realisation that the prevention of injuries or sickness is not itself sufficiently powerful a motive to achieve the ultimate benefit from an accident prevention programme; that a more comprehensive technical approach is required, involving such techniques as safety sampling, safety contact schemes and damage control.
