When facilities managers at harvard noticed that the grounds were looking distressed, Eric Fleisher knew just what was called for: tea and sympathy. The latter involved weaning the university's grounds from harsh pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. And the tea came in the form of compost tea: a solution that's "brewed " by depositing beneficial organisms found in compost into water, which can then be applied to soil.
