Power semiconductor industry strengthening IGBT category

Suppliers in China's power semiconductor industry are fueling the development of IGBTs to narrow the technology gap with foreign players and grab more orders. They are counting on the component's projected growth in the next one or two years. As early as 2010, the category and MOSFETS accounted for 68 percent of the country's total output value. The former posted a more than 30 percent increase. The trend will be sustained by climbing requirement from emerging applications, including new energy, power-saving and environment-friendly products, and telecom infrastructure.
