US: Push for Supreme Court review of EPA GHG rules

The American Chemistry Council (ACC) is spearheading an industry-effort to try and persuade the Supreme Court to review a lower court ruling that upheld the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)'s regulation of greenhouse gases emitted from large industrial facilities under the Clean Air Act. The industry petition, filed on 18 April, targets a 2011 agency rule that requires large manufacturing facilities and power plants to obtain permits for greenhouse gas emissions under the Clean Air Act's Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) programme.
