House Approves Bills to Advance Research On Energy, Water Efficiency, Gas Turbines

The House of Representatives passed two bills Dec. 1 aimed at promoting energy and water efficiency and improving the efficiency of gas turbines.rnUnder the Energy and Water Research Integration Act (H.R. 3598), passed by voice vote, the Department of Energy would be required to promote water and energy efficiency technologies and practices and the use of nontraditional water sources as part of its research, development, and demonstration programs.rnThe bill would direct the Energy Department, in coordination with other federal agencies, to establish the Energy-Water Architectural Council to provide improved data collection and reporting related to energy and water resources and improved technological innovation.
