The winners of the 2010 Australian International Model Solar Chal-lenge (AIMSC) were decided in a race-off that saw high school and primary school students from across the country battle it out on both track and water in November at Fremantle, WA. Each year, Engineers Australia, en-gineering organisations and dedicated volunteers work together to conduct solar vehicle challenge events with local schools in each state. These solar pow-ered vehicles may be car or boat types. Once state level competitions are completed, the winners go into a national competition to determine the winner, this year held in WA and supported by local electricity network utility Western Power. The Electrical College of EA has also been a long-term sponsor of the challenge, contributing $5000 annually.
